New fave!
I am a HUGE fan of essie® nail polish - it goes on well, has fantastic colours and most importntly it LASTS!!!
My most recent purchase was Merino Cool - DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free!!
I'm a huge fan of painted toe nails, I love feet! Not in a fetish kind of way - I just think clean, well shaped feet are pretty - especially when painted! No colour is too bold for my tootsies, but my fingers are another story...
I enjoy pretty painted finger nails, they just require SO MUCH WORK! I usually manage to chip mine the day after they're painted and not long after that its just a sad mess :(
I have relatively petite hands and even smaller nails, so when I get the chance to grow them out a lil & paint them up I feel like such a lady! haha! This is where Merino Cool comes in - ITS THE PERFECT COLOUR - its not flashy or plain, it's that perfect fall sweater that you can dress up or pair with your fave jeans... its just the right fit. Even better, I've had it on for days and though I had that close call with my butcher knife, not a chip or scuff to be had!
Thanks essie® keep it up!
Movember 1
Well get ready to hide the children and bust out the camera... No not that, get your mind out of the gutter!
Its Mo-vember! The time of year when most of the males around you that are able to grow some facial hair turn into some variation of a bad '70s porn wanna-be ;) Sorry gus, its true!
If you live under a rock & haven't noticed this movement each fall, be sure to read on...
On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health...
The funds raised in Canada support the number one male cancer, prostate cancer.
The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men’s health partner, Prostate Cancer Canada. Together, the two channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with our strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.- movember
This is a personal piece for me as my Dad went some 39 rounds with radiation last year to beat this cancer. He was successful. That is the 'good' thing about early detection & a positive outlook on life. I'd also have to mention that I think this is the 1st time I've known my Dad to not procrastinate on anything! High Five pops! and look now you have a cool tattoo!
My Dads younger brother was also diagnosed at the same time and he opted for the surgery route. Again, being proactive is key in early detection. My uncle is a bit of a social butterfly and the surgery couldn't keep him down for long ;)
There are options to beat this when found early, so you can maintain what keeps a smile on your face. Laughing is proven to release the energizer bunny we all keep inside & that totally helps the body heal. Knowing far to much about the sex lives of the members of my family is a whole other scar, but hey, they are here & healthy enough to get some action, so all the power to them!!
My Opi (maternal) also battled prostate cancer and though beat it, eventually succumbed to another cancer battle later in life. He was able to live a fantastic & uber healthy life after the first diagnosis.
I am also very happy for our family friends who, with early detections, have been victorious against this cancer. Knowing your body and making a point to have annual physical exams is a great place to start!
Now go get your stache on!
