Don't ask what the
world needs.
Ask what makes you
come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

September

I say it with a shake of my head. I just can't believe it. SEPTEMBER. Where did my summer go? And I say that as if I'm still in school and have the option of summers off. Don't even get me started on how long ago that was!

Back in the day, when I lived far east of here, this time of year had the promise of some beautiful colours.

Note: that 'u' is not a spelling mistake. I am Canadian. Though since my education is American and so are many of my friends, I will never hear the end of that 'u'. Or why I celebrate two Thanksgivings, in different months.. but that's another story...

Back to the fantastic colours. If you get the chance to drive in farm country, timing the weather just right, sometime between now and November, you might just witness the most spectacular palate as far as your eyes can see.

But since I currently live on the West Coast, we pray to the sun gods to shine upon us for just 2 more months. 2 more months will give us just enough bragging rights. Then we can text photos to family and friends that aren't here and rub it in a bit, that we live in one of the most gorgeous places on this fine planet.

I'm not ready to talk about what happens after those 2 months...
